ACM Marketsphere 2026
ACM MarketSphere 2026
The ACM Student Chapter at R.V. College of Engineering successfully conducted ACM MarketSphere, its flagship finance and strategy case hackathon, on September 26, 2026, at R.V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru. Organized in partnership with MochaTrade, a YC-backed fintech startup focused on self-custodial access to US stocks and crypto perpetual futures for global traders, the competition challenged students to approach real-world business and strategic problems faced by an early-stage fintech company.
Designed as a multi-round, elimination-style competition, ACM MarketSphere combined strategic thinking, financial analysis, business acumen, and adaptability. The event provided participants with an opportunity to move beyond conventional case-solving by responding to evolving scenarios and making decisions under changing information and time constraints.
Event Overview
ACM MarketSphere placed participants in the role of an early-stage fintech leadership team, challenging them to think through the strategic decisions involved in scaling a company from its pre-seed stage toward its next phase of growth.
The competition featured multiple strategic tracks covering areas such as market entry and regulatory strategy, growth and monetization, crisis management, infrastructure strategy, competitive positioning, and organizational scaling. These themes exposed participants to the interconnected challenges involved in building and scaling a modern financial technology company.
Rather than focusing solely on arriving at a predefined solution, the competition emphasized the depth of reasoning behind each decision and the ability of teams to adapt their strategies when presented with new information.
Multi-Round Case Challenge
The competition followed a two-stage format. The first round involved PPT-based screening, where teams developed and presented their strategic approaches to the assigned case. Out of 203 registered teams, 65 teams were shortlisted for the offline final round at RV College of Engineering.
The second round, conducted offline on September 26, introduced participants to a more intensive case-solving environment. Teams were required to analyze the evolving situation, reassess their assumptions, and refine their strategies as the challenge progressed.
This format placed significant emphasis on adaptability, structured thinking, decision-making under uncertainty, and the ability to communicate strategic recommendations effectively.
Competitive and Engaging Environment
The competition brought together students from different colleges and academic backgrounds, creating a diverse pool of perspectives. Teams worked collaboratively to analyze complex business situations, evaluate trade-offs, and develop practical strategies.
The evolving nature of the cases ensured that teams could not rely solely on solutions prepared beforehand. Instead, participants had to respond to new developments in real time, making the competition a test of both analytical depth and strategic agility.
The offline final round further strengthened the interactive nature of the event, providing participants with an environment that closely resembled real-world strategy and business decision-making scenarios.
Expert Evaluation
The final round was evaluated by an accomplished panel of professionals and entrepreneurs from the startup, investment, and fintech ecosystem:
- Srikanta Kumar – Co-Founder, Ekisaan Foundation
- Chetan Shirnali – General Partner, CoCreate Ventures
- Ishan Rahman – Co-Founder, Latspace
- Kislay Singh – Growth & Partnerships Lead, MochaTrade
Their industry experience provided participants with perspectives on strategic decision-making, business growth, venture building, and fintech operations. The evaluation focused on the teams' analytical approach, strategic reasoning, adaptability, and ability to communicate their recommendations effectively.
Participation and Winners
ACM MarketSphere witnessed strong participation, with 203 teams registering for the first round. Following the initial screening, 65 teams advanced to the offline final round, where they competed for a total prize pool of ₹20,000.
The top-performing teams were:
1st Place: High Cortisol – RV College of Engineering
2nd Place: Clutch Heroes – Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering
3rd Place: Breakout Bulls – RV College of Engineering
Their performances demonstrated strong strategic reasoning, analytical thinking, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to evolving case scenarios.
Conclusion
ACM MarketSphere successfully brought together finance, strategy, technology, and entrepreneurship in an immersive case-based competition. By placing participants in realistic business situations and requiring them to make strategic decisions under changing circumstances, the event provided valuable exposure to the complexities of building and scaling a fintech venture.
The participation of students from multiple institutions, combined with the involvement of experienced industry judges, made the competition a meaningful platform for experiential learning and professional exposure. ACM MarketSphere further strengthened ACM RVCE's commitment to creating opportunities that connect classroom knowledge with real-world problem-solving, strategic thinking, and innovation.
